Welcome to PARARI 2026
Proportional Safety – From Competition to Conflict.
Invitation to Attend

The Department of Defence, through the Directorate of Ordnance Safety – Explosive Ordnance Branch, is pleased to invite you to attend the PARARI 2026 Australian Explosive Ordnance Safety Symposium - Proportional Safety From Competition to Conflict
PARARI serves as Defence's biennial international Explosive Ordnance (EO) Safety Symposium, aiming to facilitate professional development, education, and networking opportunities for EO safety experts and practitioners. Since its inception in 1993, PARARI, currently hosted by the Directorate of Ordnance Safety, has a strong network of leaders, educators, policy makers and world class engineers and scientists within the domestic and international explosive safety community. Accessing this professional network is a highlight for every participant at the Symposium and what makes PARARI such a prestigious event.
PARARI 2024 drew participation from over 700 delegates, the largest explosive safety Symposium ever held in the southern hemisphere, representing the Australian Defence Force, foreign defence forces, industry and academia. The upcoming PARARI 2026 Symposium will continue this tradition of excellence.
The Symposium provides a platform for delegates from across the globe to enrich dialogue discussions into a wide array of explosives, munitions safety and risk mitigation topics. Be a part of PARARI 2026.
We look forward to welcoming you and providing you with an inclusive space to make a meaningful
impact to drive progress and innovation in our field of explosive safety.

The theme will explore the evolving demands of explosive ordnance safety in a world where strategic competition can rapidly escalate into operational conflict. This theme invites Defence, foreign defence forces, industry and academic stakeholders to examine how explosive safety must adapt proportionally to the scale, tempo and complexity of modern warfare.
